Moving

This last brutal south Texas summer finished me. Over 70 days straight of over 100 temps and not a drop of rain. Lived in it all my life but I am done and I am voting with my feet and money. We have sold the farm and are moving to far north Alabama. Closing on the new house and moving this week.

When my wife's kinfolks in Alabama tell me "It gets hot here too" I just laugh hysterically and ask them if they ever hunted dove in September out by Big Bend. (115 in the shade, but there is no shade out there). It was 39 degrees at our soon to be new residence last night. They have actual seasons up there and not all year long Summer with one week of freezing (like Texas).

I am looking forward to being closer to some hunting in the Appalachian mountains and I understand there are some great hunting preserves up there, as well as some good black bear opportunities.

If anyone in north Alabama, or nearby Tennesse, has any leads on good hunting areas/leases/preserves or what not, message me! I promise not to share it! Lol.

Or if anyone just wants to get together someday to look at/shoot some handguns! Looking forward to maybe meeting some area members eventually. I hope Ryan can get that member locator together one day.

I am a 5th generation Texan and always will be. (I even have some grandkids that are 7th generation). But we are super excited about the change of scenery (and climate) and some new adventures.

I have been known to call in a gobbler or two and I am more amazed than anyone when it actually works! Lol.
