Pop-up Ground Blinds
I'm thinking about a pop-up style blind for a specific location in a pine thicket. I typically build ground blinds but this may be a better option.
Thoughts and experiences? And what brand/model?
Thanks guys.

I've used both designs; both the spring loaded pop-ups and the hub-style. I don't need room for two hunters so I prefer the Ameristep Doghouse blind which has zippered openings. I put them out about 4-6 weeks before the season begins and take them out soon after season ends. With this routine, I can typically make them last 3-5 years without any difficulty. They only cost like $75-$85, so buying multiples won't break the bank.
Secondly, there's something about the dome shape blinds that seems to make them conceal better than the square shape of hub blinds. With a minimal amout of "brushing in", I can make a Doghouse very hard to see until you're right on top of it. I've had deer pass within 3 feet of the blind with them barely giving it a look.
I've learned the hard way that the best way to keep from getting busted is to totally black out your back side (which will always be my downwind side) and only open the windows enough to see what you need to see. I use an Ozonics generator and have had deer approach to within 7 yards from the downwind side without being spooked.
I've done dawn to dark sits in a pop-up blind, which is something I just can't do with most other stationary set-ups.
Hope some of that was helpful.
