Handgun Hunting Discussion

Hello All:

This Christmas season I will have an opportunity to take some time off. So I was thinking about some kind of special handgun hunt outside of New England.

I know some will say I could hunt the somewhere in Maine, Vermont or New Hampshire but by Christmas time the deer seasons are done and the success rates are rather low to begin with. It would be a waste of time in many ways.

So I thought. What about a long road trip to some place like Texas for a couple of weeks?

I do see that the Lone Star State offers deer hunting as well as some exotics .

I have thought about a cow elk hunt in some western state ( I see that some are quite reasonable) but I am not sure if I am too late for one of those hunts.

Florida might be on the list as well because a couple of friends moved down there and I know there are hunting ranches in that state.

So. The reason I am posting this is because I would appreciate some guidance or at least what to or who to avoid. Any comments are appreciated.
