Getting ready to go vintage this year
At least part of this season I am going to hunt with old stuff. Of course you have seen the posts with the pre war S&Ws that are hunting. My 1961 Flat Top will hit the woods as well. I have been buying vintage hunting clothes and other things to make the hunts more period correct. I have Western knives made in Boulder ( I collect them), and orange hat and orange vest made in USA that are in nearly new condition, my red and black mackinaw, WWII German Hendsoldt binoculars that are in very good condition. Sure I am still going to hunt with new stuff as well. We have a long season and generous bag limit so it all works. Of all this stuff I have been buying the most amazing thing for its age is an orange hunting vest that I haven't been able to date precisely. It looks like it was made yesterday but as I right now I know it is at least 60 years old but could go back to the mid 50s. The quality of the whole thing is remarkable from the stitching to the zipper. I guess making things more interesting and challenging is in my genetic makeup. I have been going through old family hunting pics and find them pretty amazing. Hopefully I will be able to take a pic or two of my vintage hunts and age them so I can display them with my old family pics. The difference is I will do it with handguns. Here is one of my aunts with an elk my uncle killed in southern New Mexico.

I love it! Great plan. I am betting you will enjoy evey second during these hunts.
