Getting ready for Hunting Season

I spent the day at the range with these guns and my Anaconda 44 Mag.

This time of the year is so much fun playing around with different guns and loads to see which are the most effective in regards to accuracy.

Encore

475 Linebaugh this is Reeder made barrel it really likes the Cutting Edge bullets loaded over LilGun 280 grain massive HP. I also have some 435 grain powder coated cast loads I am working up at lower velocities big WFN .

338 Federl Magnum this barrel is so accurate with a WFN Cast gas check I cast for this gun. I load them to moderate velocities and this thing will shoot way better than me at 100 yards from the bench. I did manage to get 2" groups at 100 yards with the Swift 4x scope on it. Yea cheap glass but it holds up well. The brake on this gun makes it pleasant to shoot. I would not hesitate using this for Elk or even moose and it nails deer.

6.8 SPC II in an MGM barrel loaded with 100 grain Nosler Accubond. Deer dropping load from the rifle and this 1.5" groups yesterday at 100 yards it has the same 4X Swift scope on it. I think in an Encore or G2 this caliber is highly underrated. It is a dream rifle caliber and just as good in the handgun.

HK the USP is my home defense gun and earned its place there with incredible accuracy and handling. The reliability is outstanding and running drills with this gun is fun and eye opening of its capability.

HK Mark 23 is new to lineup and hopefully when my 45 super brass gets here will shoot and handle those rounds accurately and possibly be used for white tailed deer this season. More work todo on this gun and cartridge.

Colt Anaconda with a optic mounted is not only accurate but a p,erasure to shoot. I shot a bunch of 180 grain XTP abut innother outings used a WFN GC cast at 270 grains which this gun loved and was incrediblely accurate. The cast is what I use for hunting the jacketed are for paper punching.

Not with me today was my Glock 20 with a 7" KKM barrel proven , accurate and fun to hunt with.

All in all fun day and more to come.

Been getting ready all summer for "hunting season". Killed 57 deer so far with my 6.5/.284 XP, .375/.284 XP, .325 WSM XP, .338 JDJ MAG Encore, .300 Whisper (Sub loads only). Guess I'm ready about now. Permits expire in 2 weeks, so I'll shoot a few groundhogs. (Got 10 this summer with my SSK Ruger MKIII suppressed while I was watching for deer).
