New barrel ordered
My wife is cooler than yours. Hard stop.
Tonight she told me I needed a new Encore barrel so I promptly went to SSK and ordered a 15” stainless .284 Win 1:9 twist.
There’s a 12 week lead time so it’ll be here in time for the Christmas tree. Already have a set of dies and 50 Peterson brass. This is going to be fun.

First outing went well. I loaded ten 120 gr TTSX over 59 grains of Hunter to get zeroed with and look at velocity and pressure. I averaged 2870 fps with no signs of pressure. Chrono showed high SD but I’m chalking that up to using cull TTSX bullets that were greater than 0.3 +/- of 120. I was shooting at 50 yards and not really concerned about group size for the above reasons.
Trying a few more powders this afternoon for kicks and giggles.
