Whitetails, Etc. by Gene Wensel

I just got this book a short time ago and am about half way through it. I'm not a "trophy" hunter really. I wish I were but don't have the discipline to hold out. However, I find this book very interesting and well worth the money.

While it's not handgun centric, this book is for anyone interested in hunting big, trophy whitetails, and directly applicable to those hunting them with short range weapons.

For those of you not familiar with Gene Wensel, he and his twin brother Barry have been traditional bowhunting and taking trophy class whitetails for decades.

Books on Larry Kelly's Hunts

Which book(s) should I be looking for to read more about Larry Kelly's hunts? I know there are many but none that I can tell are just or primarily about his hunts.

Thanks!

BACK IN THE EARLY 70's, SOON AFTER I GOT MY OM RUGER 7.5" 45 COLT/45 ACP CONVERTIBLE, IIRC MILEK HAD AN ARTICLE ON LOADING FOR THE NEW RUGER 45 COLT AND FROM IT I GOT A LOAD OF 13grs OF UNIQUE AND A 250gr HORNADY BULLET, I USED THAT LOAD TO KILL MY FIRST HANDGUN DEER, A REALLY NICE 8 POINT BUCK.

New shooting books...

I acquired two new books from SAFARI PRESS this week. The Handgun Hunting book is from 1975, the Handloading book is a second printing, from 1953...
