Whitetails, Etc. by Gene Wensel
I just got this book a short time ago and am about half way through it. I'm not a "trophy" hunter really. I wish I were but don't have the discipline to hold out. However, I find this book very interesting and well worth the money.
While it's not handgun centric, this book is for anyone interested in hunting big, trophy whitetails, and directly applicable to those hunting them with short range weapons.
For those of you not familiar with Gene Wensel, he and his twin brother Barry have been traditional bowhunting and taking trophy class whitetails for decades.

Just getting into it but chuckled, Ch 12 and 13 are about two “newcomers “ named Mark Hampton and Larry Rogers…..still alot of wisdom that applies today
