Status of .450 Marlin Brass
Light at the end of the tunnel snuffed out.
Bertram Brass who has been doing runs of 450 Marlin brass has announced that they are stopping all imports of brass to the US. As soon as they sell their US inventory they are completely shutting down US operations.
Talked to my friend at Starline to see if there was any hope of them running .450 Marlin Brass. They are so far behind that they aren't considering taking on any new brass that they aren't currently making.
Hornady of course is chasing the PRC thing and said they have no plans to run any components for the .450 except for their own ammunition. Sad part is the brass they use with the FTX isn't standard length brass. It can be loaded but if you are already set up to run .450 Marlin on a Dillon it is a royal pain.
I am planning on talking to Pete at Quality Cartridge in the next day or two. They list it but runs are few and far between. He loves Italian food and might he able to bribe him with some good pasta.
I have enough to run my two .450s for a while but there are a lot of guns out there and the parent of the cartridge, Hornady has abandoned another one of their children.
