It’s only appropriate that it gets its first kill at the ranch of the man I got the gun from, I’ve been lucky enough to be able to take a pig with every visit to his ranch. This morning was the last day of hunting and I’d not seen anything all trip. So i was surfing the Internet and texting my better half, at 930 this morning waiting to be picked up. When I look out and see 15 or so pigs gobbling up corn, I set the IPad down grabbed ear plugs, and poked the 657 out the window. The smaller pigs were darting about but this one was busy eating and quartering away from me. I placed the crosshairs just behind the shoulder, high enough to catch spine, so I wouldn’t have to track it. Broke the shot and down he went. 210Speer Deep Curl was stopped by the shield on the other side, but only after severing the spine and dropping the pig, it was an advertisement mushroom. Considering the boar was not really that big, weight wise he had nice teeth, something I hadn’t noticed until walking up to him.
