BFR Grip Frames

For those of you with experience with the BFR, is the plowhandle gripframe noticeably inferior in moderate-recoiling cartridges compared to the bisley? How do the rubber grips hold up over time? I'd like to have a 7.5" .357 or .44 but can't find one in the Bisley configuration. Plenty of .500 JRH around but don't need that for whitetails and hogs. I looked at the custom shop but not worth paying $800 extra over the standard market offerings.

The new style rubber grip on the plow handle is much better in my hand that the old style or the hard grips. I have a .475 Linebaugh that I only shoot full power loads in and at least to me it is tolerable. Ronnie Wells has a .475 Just like mine and he built one of his "Dealer" style frames for it. He says it is night and day different. I used one of the dealer frames on my custom 460/45. I shoot 360 grains at 1250 fps from the 4 5/8" barrel. It is very manageable with that grip frame. Here is Ronnie's .475
