Rugers Ready

On Kim's recommendation, I set up two of my revolvers for the upcoming bear hunt with Burris FF3's on Griffon Hill mounts. Rain has prevented me from being able to sight them in, but I'm hopeful that I can get out there this weekend.

The mount went on the Redhawk, no problem. The Bisley was a different story. I couldn't get the mount to sit parallel to the top of the frame. After fiddling with it for a while, I discovered that the ears of the frame that come up on each side of the rear sight mortise were not flat. The difference between the front and rear was about .020" - that's a lot, in my opinion. Fortunately, I kept my mill and was able to flatten the ears and install the mount.

I'll be using my .41 Mag BH Bisley Hunter and my buddy Marcus will be using the .44 Mag Redhawk.

I've got the GH mount on a 480 Bisley and one of my 357 maximums. I couldn't keep the Weigand mount to stay tight on the 480 but the GH has not given any issues with the rear screw (Loctite) and the pin installed. I used Holosun red dots on both.
