Buck down FA 97/41
Super pumped to have filled my final tag tonight on this mature 10. 45 yard shot with my Freedom Arms M97 in .41 magnum. Load is a 180 XPB leaving the barrel at just over 1500 fps. Maybe a 15 yard death run after a pass through double lung shot.

Thanks. I thought that the vegetation in that area may not be ideal for whitetail. The deer here are a mix of texanus and Virginia subspecies that were both introduced here between 60 and 70 years ago. We have seen an increase in body weight over the last 10 years as the Virginia DNA becomes more prevalent. I have killed about a dozen bucks over 250 lbs. live weight in the last 10 years with one going 315 lbs. I find subspecies and environment differences very interesting.
