416 Taylor is together

Update on the .416. Scope is mounted. I could only get 3 rings on it. If I catch it slipping I will mill another slot on the base and add a ring.

It is a blast to shoot. Literally. It’s like a stick of dynamite going off right in front of you. Love it! I am trying to decide which bullet to sight it in with. Probably going to sight in with 350 grain Speer. I have 410 grain Woodleigh’s, 400 Nosler Partitions and 400 grain DGX. I am going to work on the 350 as an elk load.

I've had a 2-7 Simmons, a T'SOB base, and 3 SSK rings on mine for at least 15 years. Never had a problem with any of them. Never even had loosening screws. The Simmons has allowed me to make a few 200 yd. shots on groundhogs and 150 yd. shots on deer. Only problem with it was my charging elephant at 12 yards. Had the scope on 2X, sort of filled up with a lot of grey matter. Finally brained him. A red dot would have been nicer!
