Got the bugs worked out of the SSK-50
In an earlier post, I described the issues I was having with grouping with my SSK-50. They were all over the place, nothing could be repeated.
As some of you had mentioned, try a different scope, which I did. I took off my Crimson Trace that I had been using for several years and put on my Nightforce SHV.
Last week, I started with 60 gr VMax and shot a very good group. Today, I shot 75 gr Hornady BTHP and 80 gr Berger VLD. Both of these shot very well with the 80's having a better edge. I'll be working on the 200 range next.
Below is my bench setup I use for my bolt action handguns and the SSK. Very stable.
