First week of deer camp is in the books.

I love this time of year. Deer sightings are down and none of our group has tagged a bruiser yet but camp time has been fantastic as always. Hogs and does have kept some trigger fingers happy. We've eaten well and fellowshipped together. After a hard fought and impressive showing by the Razorbacks, Saturday night we had NY Strips, potatoes, salad, rolls and Amish made butter (WOW!) This is just a sampling of our crew. Six or eight were doing other things.

Doc and Tom. Two great friends.

Mike covering the steaks.

A little distilled and aged something with Coke.

My stand fir an afternoon hunt.

One of our shooting houses. SF built stand out of Texas and my Encore 7mm-08 ready to do work.

I've had that Stanley thermos for almost 25 years and I haven't carried ammo in these old Federal carriers in decades.

"Big Muddy" Waters when I was a kid we had a cabin on 40 acres that was a tradition. Sometime around my 8th grade year I got the phone call that camp had been burned. After that it was down and back, no campfire, no meals or camaraderie. For many years it died for me and missed it dearly. Very blessed to have what we do now.
