Handgun Hunting Discussion

We've got a house in a "ravine community" and are just across the street into the woods by the 9th hole of the golf course. I saw 5-6 deer from the deck and about another dozen while driving out last night. Even saw a good sized buck still in velvet. For years they've had a no hunting rule and the deer have eaten all of the underbrush to the point there is nothing left to browse in the woods. Last year ODNR recommended that several hundred deer be "removed" from the property (Hideaway Hills Cub) and after debating several options (tranquilizing to relocate, etc) they finally allowed a special bow/crossbow hunting period that I'm told saw more than 100 taken. Now I just need to convince them that handguns should be allowed too. If you look closely at the pic, you can see the bones along her back from not getting enough to eat.

I'm not holding my breath for use of a firearm on the property - some of these folks who have more money than knowledge have started a donation-supported program to catch cats in order to spay/neuter and then release them. My thought is that if you've already caught them, why turn them loose???

"Urban hunts" have grown over the years around the country. Still, much like elections, people are free to make uninformed and damaging decisions.
