Smith and Wesson's True Thoughts on T/C

Had an interesting interaction with Thompson Center customer service on Wednesday...called them because the rubber is separating on my grip and obviously T/C's have a lifetime warranty...so I thought... I've had a ramrod and recoil pad for my T/C muzzleloader replaced post S&W purchase and had a pin replaced in my G1 Contender post S&W purchase but these instances were within a year or so of that purchase happening... When asking for the grip to be replaced, the customer service lady took my serial number and then placed me on hold for almost 30 minutes...she came back, ranted for 10 minutes on how "When S&W purchased T/C they left us a company and supplies in shambles, no spare parts, yada yada yada..." then stated she has no replacement grips...I asked to speak to a supervisor after how she took the issue on, she transferred me after another 20 minute hold...the supervisor told me a similar story although not as much of a rant and said "once we purchased T/C, the lifetime warranty ended on T/C products." I told them that is not correct, I had previous items replaced post S&W purchase and S&W even advertised they are continuing the lifetime warranty of T/C, not to mention they continuing manufacturing items under the T/C brand advertising a lifetime warranty with them!!! Even the latter Pro Hunter Encores were manufactured by S&W, and they clearly advertised a lifetime warranty...their muzzleloaders on the box clearly said lifetime warranty... I was disappointed in S&W and how this whole situation was handled. The supervisor said "search the internet, you can use a Encore or Contender G2 grip on your G2 frame, the Encore grip is the same... First I've heard that!!!

I really hope SSK can start making other frames as patents expire, just wish there were more affordable barrel options out there, most of the factory T/C barrels were easily had online for the mid $250 ish range now your upper $300's or more

At least it looks like the Encore and G2 are coming back.
