Strange bullet performance
Just got home from another fantastic African hunt. Here’s an odd look at a recovered Bullet from a G2 contender, 378GNR, 260 grain, 375 caliber Nosler Accubond, at 2050 FPS. The bullet has full weight retention, plus the white accutip is still intact. Instead of round, the bullet was egg shaped. With a bit of a flat spot on one side. The Impala dropped at the shot to a perfectly placed shoulder shot. Problem is, no exit point. WTF??? Impala are the size of a doe whitetail, do that shot should have gone thru two impala clean.

Apparently, while I watched the impala take the second step out of the maze of Black Monkey Claw thorn bush, there was an unseen twig in line with my shot. The bullet right on target, was deflected sideways, but still hit point of aim. Only thing is, it impacted sideways Flat. The bullet smashed the scapula, driving it into the spine, dropping the impala like struck by lightning. Then with it still spinning in Bullet twist, continued 90 degrees up the meat of the neck, about foot. You never know what’s in store for you out in the hunting fields. Nice little Impala, none the less.

Beautiful Impala Michael!
