Revolver Scope Mounts
Ryan, this isn't exactly a hunting topic, but it concerns scoping a revolver for hunting and I figured the traffic here would best be able to answer it. Please feel free to move if you feel it needs to.

I've never hunted with, or even shot, a handgun with a scope. But old eyes could benefit from one I think. So I have a couple of questions for you more experienced folks:
1) I am thinking about putting an inexpensive scope in my Ruger Mark I just to give it a try. The Ruger already has a clamp on B-Square rail with a reflex red dot. I call it The Blaster! like Star Wars. Anyway, I am thinking about something like a BSA Edge 2x. What are you thoughts?
2) After I've tried a scope on the .22 and find I like it, I plan to scope my S&W mod 29, 8 3/8" bbl. It's an early 80s model with no holes drilled for a rail so I ask:
a. What rail do you like - Weaver, EGW and Wiegand seem to have good ones. EGW offer one without hole in it if there is something goofy with older undrilled S&Ws?
b. Rings - I figure 2 are OK for a .22 but 3 min for a .44, I'm open to suggestions here?
c. Scopes - I like the Burris 2x20 or would more power be better ( Leupold FX-II 4x20 or a 2-7 variable maybe)?
3) Any additional thoughts, ideas, recommendations, etc?
Sorry so long winded. But I hope you're like me I love digging into and discussing this kind of stuff.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for all the feedback guys! You've given some good stuff to think on.
