Winter Project Finished.... finally!

I have a Savage Striker chambered in 260 Remington that I have hunted with for several years. I always wanted a bolt action pistol chambered in 308 Win. and late last year I was able to pick up another Savage Striker with a factory 308 barrel and an extra 17" barrel chambered in 260 Remington.

I thought it would be a good winter project to transform this pistol into a practical "field" gun to use for longer shots on the farm and for any future endeavors that required more distance.

I slicked up the action and reduced the trigger pull to 1 lb. 9 oz. I installed a 16-1/4" Shaw barrel chambered in 308 and added a muzzle brake. Mounted a Burris 3 x 12 scope with exposed turrets for elevation. Some Brownells Aluma-Hyde II and I now have a camouflage stock.

The gun has shot about every bullet that I've tried with excellent results. I decided to try a 130 grain Barnes TTSX for this fall.
