CorBon single shot pistol ammo
A few years ago, our friend James from Jersey gave me some 30/30 ammo by CorBon, in their single shot pistol line. It came in white and blue cardboard boxes (that I didn't save) and indicated a 150 grain bonded soft point.

I haven't chronographed the load, just confirmed its point of impact. I have carried the ammo afield on numerous occasions, with the intention of shooting something with it. It just hadn't happened , until the last day of the Georgia deer season.

The 70 yard shot was no stretch for the Contender, but the snow on the ground was an infrequent occurrence.

This scene is something uncommon in Georgia.
My shot pierced the doe through the lungs, striking a rib on exit. She ran seemingly unaffected for about 60 yards, then stopped, flicking her tail, then fell. The blood trail was easy enough to see in the snow. Obviously the ammo worked, with a complete penetration and signs of expansion. I didn't see the violence and subsequent internal damage that I have seen with my favorite 30/30 load, the Hornady 160 leverevolution. I suspect the load uses a .30 caliber bullet intended for rifle use.
Thanks to James for sharing the ammo, so I could share a little field experience with some handgun hunting ammo I have not seen before, or after.

Congratulations on the nice doe. Thanks for sharing.
