Bullets for 30-30AI for caribou/black bear
So I just picked up a 14" 30-30AI Contender barrel (Factory chamber) with the idea of trying it as a caribou & black bear cartridge. Anyone with experience have bullet weight preferences for these critters in this cartridge? I'm thinking 150s?

So for hunting essentially add 200fps to those numbers for ethical impact velocities. That looks like it either makes for short distances or faster calibers. Looking at my rifle data a 150gr. 30-30 at 2200fps MV falls below 1700fps before getting to 200yards. Still viable at 175yds, and still a useful load for most handgunners but that velocity is also from a longer barreled rifle. Interesting stuff for sure.
