Hardball Alloy Bullets for Hunting?

Posted this question on a different forum and got mixed responses. For hunting of large game (elk and bigger), how does the community here feel about the use of Hardball Alloy bullets? This is a common alloy used by Matt’s, Missouri Bullet company, and others that generates a BHN of about 16-18 and has a composition of 92 lead, 6 Antimony, 2 Tin.

The nay-sayers believe it is too brittle for hunting but there are a ton of hunting bullets out there in this specific alloy. What has been your experience in terminal performance with this alloy (454 loads specifically).

Do you know what the meplat diameter is on the 330 grain 475? I can’t find it listed anywhere. 10-4 on the buffalo bore write up… very strong endorsement by Sundles.
