Good caliber for new pistol hunter
Got a buddy who's thinking of getting into pistol hunting for deer, what would be a good low kicking deer caliber? Don't want to scare them off of pistol hunting. Shoots a 30-06 rifle great, but we know pistols are a diffrent animal.

With the CVA, I would go with the 6.5 Creed, and put a brake on it. It is already threaded for a muzzle brake, and the pistol will be a puffcake to shoot. Contender=30-30.
Encore=6.5 Creed, 243 Winchester, 6 Creed, 7mm-08, or 308 Win. I would stay with the 6mm's and 6.5's myself for someone getting started
