Nikon BDX reticle

Help!. I recently mounted a 'new to me' Nikon on my 7-30 barell. When Irun the variable power from low to high my FOV changes drastically. Sent an email to Nikon CS with no reply so I am reaching out here. I have never had this issue with other manufacture's variable power scopes so don't know if; a) this is a Nikon thing, b) I have a bad scope or c) this is some kind of user error I have not figured out. Thanks

That is typically described as Eye Relief. If I remember, the one Nikon scope I looked at (and only one I think they made from my searching) was simply an EER (Extended Eye Relief) scope that was more suitable for Scoute or top eject Lever action rifles. I tried one and returned it based on the issues you experienced.

A lot (maybe all) of scopes do that. At high magnification, the ER gets shorter.
