Success In The Field

Got up at 0415 this morning and headed to my buddies house so we could go to lease. We needed to put corn in the feeder and batteries in the camera. And try to shoot some pigs. We have been seeing a lot on cameras. We got out there before sunup and started watching a field where we normally see them. We were watching part of the field , but couldn’t see over the hill to see the other half. I walked over to look and saw a big sounder coming. We got behind the cedars to get closer. Just as we got to our firing position I looked over and saw a loan hog staring at us. We had some small trees between us and I don’t think it had decided what we were yet. But I knew he was fixing to grunt and sound the alarm. If he did they would all scatter. I took quick aim with my XDM Elite , 3.8” barrel , Holosun EPS sight, and let fly with a Ft. Scott Munitions 125gr Tumble on impact round. I hit it in the lungs and I heard and saw the release of air from its lungs. It squealed and hit the ground and started flopping around. Coolest hit ever. Not sure if these rounds actually tumble on impact as advertised, But it sure did the trick. Needless to say the rest scattered and we didn’t get any more shots. Dang it. Turns out , it was a young boar. Included are some pics of hogs at feeder and damge they are doing.
