MN doe down- success at the home farm

While scanning the slough bottoms and thickets for that prime mature buck we all hope for, I had a good doe present an opportunity to break in my Cva scout v2 pistol. It’s a 6.5 creedmoor topped with a vortex scout scope running the 130gr sig elite hunter tipped ammo (tipped gameking @ 2558). Double lung shot at 196yd folded her up after a very short dash.

This is my first big game animal with any non-revolver handgun, so I had the opportunity to adapt my hunting style a bit and teach myself a few things prepping for the hunt. It was fun! My 2yo niece was as excited as I was to go get the deer and take pics with it haha. She had to bring her toy gun with to pose as well 😁. Definitely going to be more handgun hunters in the coming generations.

Congratulations Sir! Maybe your Niece will be interested in taking up the sport one day. Great pics.
