KY Whitetail
The good Lord blessed me with the opportunity to harvest this nice 8 point whutetail this week. I had been specifically looking to harvest some mature does to donate to Hunters for the Hungry, but i was seeing bucks almost every dau of the season and unable to get a clear shot at a doe.
This buck appeared Thanksgiving morning at 9:50 at 122 yards. I was using my TC Encore chambered in 7mm-08 shooting a 140 grain Remington Core-lokt. The deer was facing me slightly quartered. The bullet entered inside the right shoulder, clipped the top of the heart and exited the back of the left lung. He ran a quick 10 yard circle and expired.
He is short on points, but measured 18" wide. I'm thinking he's an older deer on the downhill slide. I will get his jawbone aged when I clean the skull for a mount.
Very nice! That buck does have some inside spread.
