Groundhog Season

I normally open my groundhog season in late Feb. Getting tired of the cold, snow, plowing snow. I go to a few farms & the local airport where I'm "animal control".

Walked around one farm with chicken houses. Had my Taurus Raging Bull .41 Mag. with 2-7 Burris scope and 210 gr. Horn. XTPs (totally worthless bullet on deer- too hard, poor penetration), and my HHI PSR rest. Didn't take long to see a 'hog digging out his hole. I set up at 41 yards while he was busy digging. He came out for a rest broadside. Double shoulder shot. Very small exit & internal damage , but he never moved.

Big ol' male.

Next went to the airport. Took 2 at 129 & 184 yds. with my .223 Contender and 50 gr. VMaxes. A successful day and, hopefully, many more to come.

6". Don't see a lot of Raging Bull .41s anywhere. Shoots really good, but does not group a lot of bullets close together. Sierra & Win. HPs are side by side out to 100.
