Initiated the .375 Win Contender

It has been a slow start for me this year but I finally got an opportunity. A midsize doe pranced by at 25 yards from my tree saddle. I have always been reminded how quick a season can turn around. I had told myself i wanted to try for the high shoulder shot and came close as the 220 grain Fury SP went thru scapula then thru a rib in and out. High enough for lungs only but she died quickly even with only partial lung collapse. No complaints. Load is 37 gr IMR 4895. This load has same 50 yard POI as my original load of 36 gr IMR 4895 which is a compressed load with Speer 235 gr hot core semi-SP. Both loads opened pretty well in wet paper and water jugs but the Fury opened a large exit. Doe pushed herself on her nose about 35 yards but it was in the direction i had to go anyway so all good. Added a heavy bodied spike to the tally, very similar results even with a little trigger snatching leading to a shot a little far back. Fury still took out both back ends of lungs and some liver. Ran no more than 30 yards. Love me some Fury bullets.
