Like I need another project but.....

Building a 4" 357 5 shot out of an off duty .38 6 shot. Inspired by a George Nonte article from years ago. Pocket hunting handgun. This is going to be a fun gun. I have so many irons in the fire at the moment I may not finish it until after deer season. I have been playing with .357 Loads that get good velocity with lower pressures. I have a load worked up that will get 1400 fps with a 158 XTP in a 4" barrel and the pressure is only about 29,000 PSI. Charter said the cylinder can take the 40,000 PSI loads with no problem. It will be snappy to shoot but will live forever loaded that way. I will probably swap barrels out this weekend. I have all the 5 shot parts but it is going to take some hand work to get the timing perfect. If nothng else it keeps me out of trouble. I am gping to use one of the Target Bulldog barrels so I can set the cylinder gap vary tight without having to turn it. A little known hack on the sleeved Charter Barrels is a skim of E6000 glue wile installed the sleeve then gently tighting the set screw. The barrel stays put and no danger of damaging the barrel. I can get these triggers down pretty light but I will set this one at a crisp 2 lbs.
