Revolvers

I currently have a 6" GP100 .357 mag that I love to shoot and carry when I am in the woods. I have taken a deer with it but I am a little leery on stretching the legs with it on big game. I would think 35 yards and I I'll have no problem. I'm using 158gr xtp traveling at about 1200 fps at the muzzle from hand loads.

To "fix" being able to stretch the legs on my shots I'm looking at getting another revolver. I'm thinking either a .454 or 44 mag with about a 6" barrel. I am on a smaller budget so I'm looking for recommendations for which way to lean on caliber and what firearms to look at.
