Does anyone hunt with a Colt SAA clone?

I recently acquired a Cimarron/Uberti copy of the Old Model four-click Colt in .45 Colt, 7 1/2-inch barrel. I plan to work up a good honest load with the RCBS 45-270-SAA bullet going 900-950 that should do fine on deer and hog-sized critters. The main challenge will be shooting under field conditions with that itsy-bitsy rear frame vee and that skinny front sight blade, which likely will limit me to 50 yards or less. Anyone else here have field experience with an SAA with the original sights on game?

Cimarron does import the Bad Boy in .44 Mag and 10mm if you want one of their guns for hunting. They have an 1860 Army size grip, so they're easy to hold on to. The sights are adjustable, too. Used to be a decent gun for the price, but I know everything's gotten more expensive.
