And another match
This gun is running a Storm Lake barrel, SS captive rod with a 15 lbs. spring, Dawson sights, KT trigger with a Zev pro connect and 6lb trigger spring, extended controls, barrel and slide hand fit and slide to frame hand fit after frame squaring. The trigger is set at 3lbs with a super fast reset. From a rest at 25 yards it will literally shoot a ragged hole. With a 8x scope mounted it shoots 2" groups at 100 yards. My deer load in it uses a 165 grain Gold Dot that runs right at 1300 fps from the 6.02" barrel. It is slightly more accurate with 180 grains but the terminal performance from the 165 Gold Dot is better. Still plenty accurate to hunt with. For competition I am using 180 grain Winchester "Defense" loads part number USA40JHP. From the long barrel they run 1228 fps. The factory rating is 1010 fps which is roughly what my G23s shoot them. The bone stock G24 will shoot a perfect score every time with these if I do my part. I tested them in the ballistic buffalo and they actually work good enough to hunt with.
The last match I shot it was a cardboard safari match. I shot a custom security-six in that match and did pretty good. 3rd out of 42 shooters. I figure the regulars will embarrass me but it's good practice and fun to boot. I never met anyone at a match that wasn't super nice. Everyone helps everyone. The plan right now is shoot stock only on the 16th and stock and unlimited on the 30th. Next year I am planning on hitting several matches. Indoor and outdoor.

Busy weekend but got to shoot it just enough to check out function. I swapped the trigger out and put a Timney in it. Running like a sewing machine. First match is Friday night.
