scope base for 1911
scope question🤔have hunted with scoped single shots and scoped revolvers for decades but new to semi-autos. Question : frame mounted 1911 scope base is megabucks. Will slide mounted red dot like sightron or ultra dot hold up?

A slide mounted small reflex type red dot on a rear sight mount that is solid will hold up. Anything larger is questionable due to the amount of reciprocating weight and mass of the sight.
