Heads up KKM barrels Glocks
KKM now specifically says don't use their barrels to build a .45 Super. The problem isn't their barrels. Their take on it is the guns aren't strong enough for the conversion. Of course when properly set up Glocks even work fine for the .460 Rowland using 460 Rowland kits. The problem happens when people build a gun and leave off little details like using a comp on the 45 Super. Sure you can just stick a fully supported barrel and heavier spring in the gun and run it but I will be the first to tell you with out a comp and the correct spring it is on borrowed time. Frame battering can show up in just a couple of hundred shots of full powered 45 Super. Bar-Sto is an option for the super. Instead of using their ported barrel I strongly recomend their threaded barrel and proper comp. It does a better job keeping the action locked until the pressure has dropped which slows down the slide. Every problem I have seen with these guns came from improper set up. A lot of that came from info that came from "The Glock Forum." There was a guy on there that went by "Amature Glock Modification Expert." He actually broke a frame in half using a barrel that he deep chambered to .460 Rowland. Telling people they just need a Lone Wolf plain barrel and a heavy spring is telling them to wreck their gun. The 45 Super is a great cartridge and kills all out of proportion to its paper ballistics but if you don't want to set one up correctly you are better off with a 10mm.
460 Rowland definitely seems to having some issues. I have numerous KKM barrels and zero complaints. I did hear that one person had a bad muzzle crown on a KKM Glock barrel but I haven't encountered one yet.
